Team for Brentford
Brentford have had an amazing start to the season and will be a different proposition to the team that we outplayed in pre-season. But we can be certain that there will be no complacency for this one, either from the manager or the players.

Presumably we will revert to what seems to be the first choice eleven. Hopefully Coufal will be fit, otherwise Johnson can step in again. I can't see any other selection issues unless there are injuries we don't know about.

Fabianski
Coufal Zouma Ogbonna Cresswell
Rice Soucek
Bowen Fornals Benrahma
Antonio

Subs: Areola, Dawson, Diop, Johnson, Masuaku, Noble, Kral, Lanzini, Vlasic.

Re: Team for Brentford

Agreed. Johnson has hardly played at right back and has inferior players than Fredericks in front of him at either side.
Johnson better alround player to Fredericks. Better passed and crosser.
For someone who is supposed to be better going forward Johnson has more goals and assists than Fredericks in fewer games.

Re: Team for Brentford
Johnson is a superior defender to Fredericks.

Fredericks offers more going forward though.

Re: Team for Brentford
Yes, I hope either Coufal or Fredericks makes it. Not particularly convinced by Johnson.

ludo21, yes he’s looked good when he’s played, I wonder if some players pick up their game when surrounded by good players and a good feeling in the team ?

Re: Team for Brentford
Big difference with Soucek is that Rice is getting forward a lot more now, so he has to sit back more. Last season he was the one pushing into the box all the time.

Re: Team for Brentford
Fredericks faces a late fitness test and should be available which is a bonus if Coufal is out.

Re: Team for Brentford
I'm backing Soucek to come good again, and in the second half against Leeds he started to look more like his old self. Thing is with him if he isn't scoring then you don't notice much of note from him, but you can see he is getting frustrated with himself and will be working hard to fix it.

As for playing the old fella in the middle, plodding around pointing everywhere, fuck that.

"Will he get pissed off if always held back for Rice…???"

He ought to, even as a team player.

They offer different things going forward, so we should mix up which one does. It will be better for the team.

Doubt it Tex, if anyone is a team player I reckon it's Soucek.

Soucek not the same since euros…

Needs a rest to recharge…

…and is being held back to allow Rice to go forward more often in my opinion…

Will he get pissed off if always held back for Rice…???

For me and I'm a Noble fan but that should be it for him as a starter in any game unless we are already qualified for the knockout stages. Both Kral and Lanzini must be pissed off to certain degree both played really well against ManU both a better players. Expect both to start against Genk.

Hopefully Coufal won't go on the international break... would be typical if he misses our games and then plays two for them and comes back knackered / injured.

Re: Team for Brentford
I thought that would get a comment or two!! I do think he gets too much grief on here but if Soucek needed a rest I would actually go for Lanzini.

Slightly off topic, there are an astonishing number of STH seats on the ticket exchange for this one. At a guess around 2,000.

I know it's a Sunday lunchtime game but why wouldn't you want to use your expensive season ticket, particularly when we are playing so well?

Just don't get it
